Re: Installation for OS 64bit

Are you encountering difficulties installing the 32 bit version on Windows 8?
Most of reports I got were successful, Windows still supporting 32 bit. There will be certainly a 64 bit release but it is not scheduled for "tomorrow".

Re: Extracting rings and observed auto curves

Go and explore the options of gpdcreport:

Code: Select all

gpdcreport -h all

Especially -ring, -aV are useful.

Re: Installation problem for Mac Yosemite

Did you try to delete everything from /Library/Geopsy.org and /Application/Geopsy.org ? Then re-run the installation program. There are still some little problems around the upgrade of existing installations. Currently there is no Yosemite release but it will be soon available. I'm currently porting...

Qt: Untested Windows version 6.2 detected! Do not worry about this warning. Next releases supporting Qt 5 will also support windows 8 without complaining. Currently, you can still use current version on windows 8, in most cases it is OK. gpdc cannot find the file test.model. Check that it exist in ...

Re: gpdc

gplivemodel has a number of command line options to change the number of modes, frequency range and the type of curve (ellipticity, phase, group,...). For more details: gplivemodel -h all If you are running it under Windows, you might experiment trouble on gplivemodel output. At least on old Windows...

Did you try to export them to sac or another format readable by Geopsy using Grilla?

Re: Whiten

whiten is a method of deconvolution of the signal which helps to improve the resolution the beampower? It is just normalization of the amplitude spectrum with a zero-phase shift. This method allows to improve the signal to noise ratio? In processing based on phases (FK, SPAC) is always useful to us...

Re: Beam power normalization in MASW

The dispersion curve plots for MASW are juxtapositions of F-K beam-forming patterns for the various frequency bands. The maximum beam power value versus frequency is mainly controlled by the available energy at a given frequency and by the amount of energy that effectively travels at a defined veloc...

Beam power normalization in MASW

What do you mean as "beam power" in Geopsy --> Linear FK toolbox --> Output --> Beam power normalization ?

Manuel is currently at ETH (Zurich), you can find his new email address at http://www.seismo.ethz.ch/research/groups/risk/people/mhobiger/index.
I'm pretty sure he can give you a correct answer.

The custom ASCII format is still in an experimental stage.
Did you try to simply import your file, removing all header line if any?

Re: How to calculate Standard Deviation from Spectral Ratios

The curves computed for each time window are averaged on a log scale (geometrical mean). Geometrical standard deviations are thus computed.

Re: Remove receivers

Hi,

Select all rows (CTRL+A), deselect the signals you want to remove (mouse click while pressing CTRL) and drag the selection to a new table or graphic. There is no direct remove option.
